Got Too Many Leaves? Don’t Do This
We’re getting to that time of year when the leaves start piling up faster than you can get rid of them.
And at some point over the next few weeks, you may look at a giant pile in the backyard and think there’s a much faster way to make it disappear.
There is. But you’re not allowed to do it. 😅 You can’t burn leaves in Dublin.
Ohio’s rules prohibit burning yard waste inside cities and villages, and Dublin’s own code considers leaves, grass, branches and other yard trimmings “landscape waste.” So even if that pile of leaves seems perfect for a little backyard bonfire, don’t light the match.
Fortunately, getting rid of them around here is pretty easy. Dublin’s fall leaf collection starts October 12 and runs through December 18, with neighborhoods divided into two collection zones.
And if you’re new to Dublin, here’s a useful thing to know: you can rake your leaves onto the grass near the curb — just not into the street — and the city will come pick them up. You can also put them in biodegradable yard-waste bags for the regular Monday collection.
So if the leaves start winning the battle this fall, resist the temptation to burn them. The city will come take them away for you.
Check Dublin’s fall leaf collection schedule here.

A Dublin School’s Unthinkable Four
Scottish Corners held a walk for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this week, and at first that might sound like one of those things schools do for an awareness month.
But there’s a much more personal reason behind this one.
Scottish Corners currently has four families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer.
So on Tuesday, the entire school dressed in yellow and gold and headed outside for “Steps for Our Scotties.” The four students directly impacted by cancer wore special gold capes while their classmates and teachers walked with them.
And the school turned all that support into something pretty significant too.
Between T-shirt sales and donations, Scottish Corners raised $6,383 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and pediatric cancer research.
Not a bad way to let four Scottie families know their whole school is behind them. 💛

A Note From Nick
You Asked How to Help. Here’s How.
A few of you have reached out asking how you can support Dublin Daily — and honestly, it means a lot just to hear that. Here's what actually helps.
The single biggest thing: forward this to a neighbor, a friend, or anyone who loves Dublin and might not know we exist yet. Word of mouth is everything for a local newsletter. Or just share dublinohiodaily.com next time Dublin comes up in conversation.
If you ever have a tip — a local business worth spotlighting, an event coming up, something happening in your neighborhood — hit reply and tell us. That's the fuel that keeps this going.
We also have sponsors who make Dublin Daily free. If something catches your eye, click their links — it makes a real difference.
Thanks for being here. Dublin is a better place to live when we're all looking out for each other — and that's really what all this is about.
