You Voted. Here's What I'm Thinking.

Yesterday, I asked whether Dublin Daily should celebrate more of our young athletes. At 6 PM last night, 113 of you had voted. 71 said yes, 31 preferred keeping things as they are, and 11 weren't sure.

I also received some thoughtful emails, including a concern I think is absolutely fair: Dublin Daily shouldn't become another school newsletter. Parents already receive plenty of information from their schools, and I don't want school stories crowding out everything else happening around Dublin.

Another reader asked why we tend to highlight sports achievements when kids are also doing great things in academics, music, art, and so many other areas.

Good point. So I'd like to try something new, but keep it manageable.

You Voted. Here's What I'm Thinking.

Let's start with one story a week, celebrating something a young person in Dublin has accomplished, whether it's on the field, in the classroom, or somewhere else entirely.

The challenge is that I won't hear about many of these achievements unless you tell me. I'll create a simple submission form where you can share these stories. And if we get more great submissions than we can fit, perhaps we can find a way to recognize additional students in a separate article linked from the newsletter.

That way, we can cheer on more of our kids without turning Dublin Daily into a school bulletin.

And of course, we'll continue covering the big achievements separately, just as we do today. State championships, students selected for national teams, and other major accomplishments won't have to wait for a weekly feature. So please keep sending me those stories as you hear about them.

I still need to work out the technical and practical details, and that will take a little time. But I like the idea of giving this a try, and I'll keep you posted as it takes shape.

And thank you to everyone who voted or took the time to write to me. Please keep the comments and suggestions coming. This kind of input is what helps shape Dublin Daily into a newsletter that reflects what our community actually wants to read.

A Space Research Park at Dublin's Doorstep?

Here's something you might not know is taking shape right on Dublin's doorstep.

Just north of Ohio State's airport, along Dublin-Granville Road, plans are moving forward for VISTA, a space research park being developed by Ohio State University and Voyager Technologies.

And no, they won't be launching rockets from our backyard.

A Space Research Park at Dublin's Doorstep?

The idea is to create a place where scientists and companies can develop and test experiments before sending them into space. That could mean research into new medicines, growing plants without gravity, or developing materials that behave differently in orbit.

The project could eventually cover up to 80 acres, with a Columbus developer already selected to work on the first building.

VISTA is already bringing research partners together, although construction of the new campus hasn't been confirmed as underway.

It's pretty remarkable to think that research destined for a space station could one day start just across Dublin's border.

You can read more about VISTA and what’s planned here.

A Note From Nick

You Asked How to Help. Here’s How.

A few of you have reached out asking how you can support Dublin Daily — and honestly, it means a lot just to hear that. Here's what actually helps.

The single biggest thing: forward this to a neighbor, a friend, or anyone who loves Dublin and might not know we exist yet. Word of mouth is everything for a local newsletter. Or just share dublinohiodaily.com next time Dublin comes up in conversation.

If you ever have a tip — a local business worth spotlighting, an event coming up, something happening in your neighborhood — hit reply and tell us. That's the fuel that keeps this going.

We also have sponsors who make Dublin Daily free. If something catches your eye, click their links — it makes a real difference.

Thanks for being here. Dublin is a better place to live when we're all looking out for each other — and that's really what all this is about.
