Wait, You Need a Permit for a Garage Sale in Dublin?
The city posted a reminder about garage sales this week, and I have to admit, this one caught me by surprise.
Apparently, you can’t just put some old stuff in your driveway and sell it in Dublin. You need a permit first.
It’ll cost you $5, your sale can last no more than three days, and you can only get two permits for the same address in any 12-month period. Sales are also restricted to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
And those signs you stick around the neighborhood? There are rules for those too. Signs posted anywhere other than your own property have to be purchased from the city for $1 each, with a maximum of three.
So yes, even clearing out the basement and selling the stuff you don’t want anymore comes with a permit in Dublin.
I genuinely didn’t know this one. Maybe everyone else did — but after seeing the city’s reminder, I figured I probably wasn’t the only one.
Here are the city's garage permit process if you’re interested to learn more.

Dublin Has More to Say About the Deer
We’ve written quite a bit about Dublin’s decision to start managing its growing deer population — including the city’s plan to use professional sharpshooters beginning later this year.
If you’ve been wondering how Dublin got to that point, the city just released a nearly hour-long podcast that goes much deeper into the reasoning behind it.
The conversation covers everything from why deer thrive so well in suburbs to the aggressive behavior some Dublin residents have reported, why relocation and sterilization aren’t considered practical options, and what residents can expect once targeted removal begins.
There are some interesting details in there, too — including why experts say suburban areas can support far more deer than natural forests and why simply leaving the population alone can create problems for both people and the ecosystem.
So if our earlier stories left you wanting the longer version, you can listen to the full City of Dublin podcast here.

All That Rain Just Closed a Dublin Road
Remember all that rain we told you Dublin has been getting this month? Well, now it’s causing problems.
Metro Place North at Frantz Road closed yesterday after overnight rain caused the nearby pond to overflow into the roadway.
The city said to avoid the area until further notice and use Metro Place South instead.
And Dublin isn’t alone. Heavy rain caused flooding across Central Ohio overnight, with the National Weather Service reporting 4 to 7 inches in the hardest-hit parts of Franklin and Licking counties. Flooded roads prompted water rescues around Columbus, while the city even activated part of the Franklinton floodwall.
It’s another sign of just how much water we’ve been dealing with lately. As we reported earlier, Dublin had already picked up 7.08 inches of rain this August — almost twice what we typically get during the entire month.
And that was before this latest round.

Most Men Notice Aging All at Once
Men's skin is 25% thicker than women's. That sounds like an advantage. It isn't. Thicker skin delays the visible signs of aging — until collagen drops. And when it drops, it drops hard: heavier eye bags, deeper wrinkles, dark spots, loss of firmness. All at once. Most men were never taught to get ahead of it. That's where Particle Face Cream comes in. A 6-in-1 formula engineered specifically for men's skin — reduces eye bags, dark spots, and wrinkles, restores firmness, hydrates deeply, revives dull tone. Two minutes a day. No complicated routine. Over 1,000,000 men already use it. Try it risk-free with a 30-day money-back guarantee. 20% off with code BH20.
A Note From Nick
You Asked How to Help. Here’s How.
A few of you have reached out asking how you can support Dublin Daily — and honestly, it means a lot just to hear that. Here's what actually helps.
The single biggest thing: forward this to a neighbor, a friend, or anyone who loves Dublin and might not know we exist yet. Word of mouth is everything for a local newsletter. Or just share dublinohiodaily.com next time Dublin comes up in conversation.
If you ever have a tip — a local business worth spotlighting, an event coming up, something happening in your neighborhood — hit reply and tell us. That's the fuel that keeps this going.
We also have sponsors who make Dublin Daily free. If something catches your eye, click their links — it makes a real difference.
Thanks for being here. Dublin is a better place to live when we're all looking out for each other — and that's really what all this is about.
