That Wendy’s Buyout May Not Be Happening After All
Remember a couple weeks ago when we told you Wendy’s might be going private? Well, that possibility appears to have cooled off pretty quickly.
Trian Fund Management — the investment firm that owns about 16% of Dublin-based Wendy’s and was reportedly putting together a group to buy the company — no longer plans to make an offer at this time, according to Reuters.
That’s a pretty significant change from earlier this month, when reports that Trian was considering a bid sent Wendy’s stock soaring. This week’s news sent shares back down.
Interestingly, we’ve been here before. Trian explored taking Wendy’s private in 2022 before eventually deciding against it the following year.
So for now, Wendy’s looks set to remain a publicly traded company headquartered right here in Dublin. And if another potential buyer emerges, we’ll let you know.

Another New Business Is Coming to Perimeter
If Botox, fillers and fancy facials are your thing, there’s a new option coming to Dublin — and we’re apparently getting Ohio’s first one.
OVME, pronounced “of me,” is a medical aesthetics company opening at 6748 Perimeter Loop Road in Perimeter Center. The company already has locations around the country, but Dublin will be its first in Ohio.
The menu goes well beyond a traditional facial. OVME offers Botox and Dysport, fillers, Hydrafacials, chemical peels and microneedling, along with some wellness services, including medically supervised weight-loss treatment.
And this one appears to be pretty far along: OVME already has its Dublin location listed with hours, a local phone number and online appointment booking.
We’ve seen this before with national brands entering Ohio: Dublin has a way of ending up pretty high on the list of places they choose to start. OVME is the latest one to make us its first stop in the state.

Back When Dublin Had Just One High School…
Here’s one for some longtime Dubliners: the Dublin High School Class of 1986 is getting back together for its 40th reunion next month.
And yes, Dublin High School — not Coffman. Back then, there was only one high school in Dublin. This was before Scioto and Jerome came along and Dublin became the three-high-school district we know today.
The Class of ’86 reunion is happening Saturday, September 19, and organizers are trying to track down classmates who may have moved away — or simply haven’t heard about it yet.
