Nobody's Going to Tell You the Truth About Your Makeup
Friends are too polite. The counter at the mall is trying to sell you something. So most of us just keep wearing what we've always worn, guessing.

Our makeup consultation is different — an honest, one-on-one read on what's working, what isn't, and why, with nothing to sell you but the truth.

Maybe Dublin's Not as Built Out as We Thought
We're always quick to say Dublin's running out of room to grow. Turns out that's not quite true — you just have to look at what's already sitting there a little differently. A new proposal just north of the post office on Emerald Parkway — at the corner with Woerner Temple Road — is a pretty good example.
The site's a 16-acre lot that's sat empty for years, zoned only for office buildings. VanTrust, the developer behind the plan, wants to turn it into something else entirely: 218 apartments, roughly 13,500 square feet of retail and commercial space, plus green space and walking trails woven through it.
It's still early. VanTrust has already presented earlier versions of the plan to the city's Planning and Zoning Commission twice — in December and again this April — and this latest revision reflects feedback from those meetings. It's expected to go before the commission again as the process continues.
Nothing's approved yet, but if this is any indication, there might be more room in Dublin to grow than most of us assume.

Doing Beats Reading, According to Dublin PD
Most self-defense advice you get is theoretical — read a pamphlet, watch a video, hope you remember it if it ever matters. Dublin Police does it differently. Their class has you actually practice the moves against someone coming at you, not just hear about them.
You'll learn how to break a grip, get free, and make enough noise that people notice — then you do it, for real, in the room. Finish the class and you walk away with a personal safety alarm too.
It's Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m., open to anyone 18 and up. More sessions get added throughout the year if that date's no good.

Dublin Schools Wants to Track Down Every Graduate
Dublin Schools wants to track down every graduate — and for a good reason. They keep a database of alumni from every Dublin high school, and it's what reunion organizers use to actually find people. No current contact info, no invite.
Right now, that matters for the Class of 2016, who are already planning their 10-year reunion. But it's true for any class — if you've moved, changed your number, or gotten a new email since graduation, there's a good chance the school doesn't have the right one for you either.
Update your info here, so you're findable whenever your class comes calling.

A Note From Nick
You Asked How to Help. Here’s How.
A few of you have reached out asking how you can support Dublin Daily — and honestly, it means a lot just to hear that. Here's what actually helps.
The single biggest thing: forward this to a neighbor, a friend, or anyone who loves Dublin and might not know we exist yet. Word of mouth is everything for a local newsletter. Or just share dublinohiodaily.com next time Dublin comes up in conversation.
If you ever have a tip — a local business worth spotlighting, an event coming up, something happening in your neighborhood — hit reply and tell us. That's the fuel that keeps this going.
We also have sponsors who make Dublin Daily free. If something catches your eye, click their links — it makes a real difference.
Thanks for being here. Dublin is a better place to live when we're all looking out for each other — and that's really what all this is about.
— Nick
