This Dublin Company Has 85,000 Trailers
There are a lot of companies headquartered in Dublin. But here’s a big one you may not hear about that often.
TEN has about 85,000 semi-trailers spread across the U.S. and Canada.
They’re the regular trailers you see being pulled down the highway, along with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds and even the chassis used to haul shipping containers. Companies rent and lease them from TEN rather than owning all that equipment themselves.
And here’s why the name TEN may not sound familiar.
Until a couple of years ago, you probably knew this Dublin company as Star Leasing.
Star Leasing has actually been around since 1974. Over the past few years, it acquired several other trailer businesses across the U.S. and Canada, and in 2024 they were all brought together under the new TEN name.
The result is a much bigger company than you might guess from driving past its Dublin headquarters. TEN now has about 1,000 employees, nearly 50 locations and says it’s the largest full-service trailer leasing company in North America.
And apparently 85,000 trailers weren’t enough.
TEN announced this week that it’s adding another 3,000 new trailers, which will start becoming available next month.

Dublin Schools Needs Bus Drivers
If you’ve ever thought about driving a school bus, Dublin City Schools would really like to talk to you.
The district says it has an immediate need for bus drivers and is holding a recruiting event Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at Emerald Campus. No experience is required, and you don’t need to already have a commercial driver’s license. DCS provides paid training to help new drivers earn one.
And the pay starts while you’re learning. DCS pays $21.49 an hour during CDL training, then $23.21 to $27.81 an hour once you have your license, depending on experience. Drivers can also earn extra money working field trips, athletic events and other extracurriculars.
Saturday’s event is pretty informal. You can stop by, tour a bus, talk with current staff and ask questions about the job. Or if you already know you’re interested, you don’t have to wait for Saturday to apply.

Famous Kidnapping Plot With a Dublin Connection
You may remember the 2020 plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Well, two brothers who were acquitted in the case filed a lawsuit this week, and the story had a pretty surprising Dublin connection.
One of the early meetings tied to the plot happened right here in Dublin.
In June 2020, several of the men involved met at a Dublin hotel, where they discussed taking action against state governments and even kidnapping governors.
And unbeknownst to them, an FBI informant was sitting in the room recording the whole thing.
The recordings from that meeting were eventually played in court.
The two brothers who filed this week’s lawsuit were ultimately acquitted, while others involved in the plot were convicted.
So apparently one of the biggest stories in Michigan six years ago had a pretty remarkable chapter inside a hotel right here in Dublin.
