Riverside Bank Made It Official
Remember Riverside Bank, the homegrown Dublin bank we told you was being acquired earlier this year? The deal is now official.
Pennsylvania-based NexTier completed its legal merger with Riverside yesterday, officially bringing the Dublin bank into the larger company.
Don’t expect the Riverside signs to disappear just yet. The actual customer-facing transition is planned for November, when Riverside will begin operating as NexTier Bank.
And there will still be some familiar faces. Many Riverside employees are staying, including President Travis Sanders, who will now lead NexTier’s Central Ohio operation as its Columbus Regional President.
So for Riverside customers, not much changes today. November is when the changeover really happens.

Music Students Will Be Knocking on Doors Wednesday
Don’t be surprised if you get a knock on the door tonight.
Music students from Coffman, Jerome and Scioto will be going door to door around Dublin from 6 to 8 p.m., asking residents to donate to the Dublin Music Boosters as part of their annual Fund Drive.
The interesting part is where the money goes. Donations aren’t earmarked just for the three high schools — they help support music programs throughout Dublin City Schools, from elementary through high school, paying for things like instruments, repairs, sheet music, uniforms and other classroom needs.
And it adds up. Dublin Music Boosters says it contributed more than $96,000 to music classrooms last year.
So if a student in a music shirt shows up Wednesday evening, that’s what they’re doing. Donations are tax deductible, and you can also donate online here.

Is Jerome Ohio’s Best Public High School?
A new ranking of Ohio’s best high schools is out, and Dublin had a pretty impressive showing.
The list comes from Niche, which ranks schools using a mix of academics, teacher quality, college preparation, student and parent reviews and other factors. And when it looked at 831 public high schools across Ohio, Dublin Jerome came out on top.
Jerome ranked #1 in the state, along with #3 for college prep and #8 for public high school teachers.
The other two Dublin high schools did well too. Coffman ranked #19 among Ohio public high schools, including #5 for its teachers, while Scioto ranked #64, along with #21 for college prep and #23 for diversity.
You may also see a ranking floating around that puts Jerome at #12. That one combines public and private schools. Among public high schools, Niche has Jerome at #1.
