A Fatal Crash on 270 - Near Tuttle Crossing
A driver was killed early Tuesday morning on I-270 southbound, just south of Tuttle Crossing, after their Toyota Camry rear-ended a tractor-trailer around 1:48 a.m. The truck had slowed for stopped traffic ahead. Medics from Washington Township Fire transported the driver to a local hospital, where they passed away just before 4 a.m. The name hasn't been released yet — the family is still being notified.

The tractor-trailer driver wasn't hurt. No passengers were involved in either vehicle.
Southbound I-270 at US 33 and SR 161 was closed for several hours this morning and fully reopened around 9:30 a.m.
Our condolences to the family and everyone who knew them.

Big News from Wendy’s Headquarters
We recently shared some of the challenges Wendy’s has been navigating lately. Now comes some encouraging news for the brand that helped put Dublin on the map.
Wendy’s just announced that Bob Wright will step in as President and CEO. Wright is no stranger to the company — he previously spent years in senior leadership roles at Wendy’s before leaving to lead Potbelly.

And honestly, his recent track record is probably a big reason for optimism around here. During his time at Potbelly, the company modernized operations, expanded its digital business, and adapted well during a stretch when a lot of restaurant brands were struggling to keep up with changing customer habits. Wendy’s specifically highlighted that work in announcing the hire.
His return also feels well-timed. Wendy’s has been working through slowing U.S. sales, store closures, and a broader shift in how people eat and order food. Bringing back someone who already understands the company — but also comes back with fresh perspective from outside the building — feels like a smart next step.
And around Dublin, we’ll probably always root for Wendy’s a little differently. This isn’t just another corporate headquarters to us. It’s one of the companies that helped shape modern Dublin, and a place where a lot of our neighbors have built careers over the years.
Hopefully this ends up being the start of a really strong next chapter.

Police Arrested 19-year-old After Shooting Near Bridge Park
We unfortunately also have some tough news from the Riverside Drive area.
Early Wednesday morning a man was hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting at an apartment complex off Riverside Drive, about a mile south of Bridge Park. According to Columbus Police, officers were called to the 6400 block of Cranston Way around 3:50 a.m.
Police say a 19-year-old, was arrested in connection with the shooting and is facing a felonious assault charge. Detectives said the victim’s injuries were serious enough that homicide investigators were called in. Authorities also said alcohol was involved, though they haven’t shared many details yet about what led up to the shooting.
The investigation is still ongoing.
