Why Gilded Age New York Private Clubs Are Trending

Manhattan’s private-club scene has experienced vertiginous growth. Mario Carbone launched a Hudson Yards joint, ZZ’s Club, in 2023; chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten descended upon the Meatpacking District to open a point-one-percent-filled catacomb, Chez Margaux; and Sunset Tower proprietor Jeff Klein descended upon the city last year to open one of his San Vicente clubs in the former Jane Hotel. As the new guard of hospitality impresarios dot the Big Apple with high-priced venues and piles of zucchini chips, blueblooded New York institutions such as the Union Club, the University Club, the Knickerbocker Club, and the Racquet & Tennis Club haven’t ceded their ground. A growing number of the city’s twenty- and thirty-something men are flocking to the old-world clubs, joining the older guard in the locker rooms.

Is Your website Actually Bringing in Customers?

We're Sparqflow — we do web design right here in Dublin. If your website hasn't sent you a new customer in a while, that's a fixable problem, not a fact of life.

We recently took one local business from a quiet site to a 74% traffic jump and 200% more leads in two months.

Curious what that could look like for your business?

Your Neighbors are Nominated. Have You Voted?

Columbus CEO's Best of Business poll has been running for 19 years, and Dublin has won Best Suburb to Do Business twelve of them in a row. That streak didn't happen by accident — and it doesn't continue without votes.

This year's ballot is open through July 17, and Dublin has eight names on it. The City of Dublin itself is up for Best Suburb to Do Business — the title we've held since 2014. IGS Energy is nominated for Large Employer. Crawford Hoying for Real Estate and Development. Friendship Village of Dublin for Retirement Community and Senior Living. Brick House Blue and The Exchange — both right here in Bridge Park — are nominated for Meeting and Event Venues. And both Muirfield Village Golf Club and Golf Club of Dublin are on the ballot on the golf side.

Your Neighbors are Nominated. Have You Voted?

What makes this worth paying attention to: unlike most awards, this one is decided entirely by readers. No committee, no industry panel. Just the people who live and work in Central Ohio. Which means Dublin's showing comes down to us.

Voting takes two minutes. Twelve years is a streak worth protecting.

Monday Night: USA vs Belgium at Fadó

Quick update on Monday night's USA vs Belgium soccer game. We got some responses after yesterday's poll — thank you — and several of you pointed us to the same place: Fadó Irish Pub at Bridge Park. Apparently it's the spot in Dublin for these games.

Monday Night: USA vs Belgium at Fadó

I did call them. They confirmed it'll be packed and there are no reservations — first come, first served. So if you're going, get there early.

Kickoff is at 8 p.m.

The New Curfew Affecting Dublin Teens

Columbus City Council passed a significant update to its youth curfew this week — and while Dublin's own rules haven't changed, it's worth knowing if your teenager spends time in Columbus.

The New Curfew Affecting Dublin Teens

Under the new rules, kids under 13 have a 9 p.m. curfew in Columbus, and teens 13 through 17 have a 10 p.m. curfew. Both run until 6 a.m. That's a meaningful change from the old rules, which allowed teens to be out until midnight. The new curfew took effect immediately after being signed by Mayor Ginther, though Columbus won't start issuing citations until January 1, 2027 — for now, officers will issue warnings and connect families with resources.

The exceptions are worth knowing: kids accompanied by a parent or guardian are exempt, as are those traveling to or from work, school, religious services, or a genuine emergency.

The practical implication for Dublin families: if your teenager is heading to Easton, Short North, or anywhere else in Columbus after dark, Columbus's curfew is what applies — not Dublin's. Something worth having a quick conversation about before the next night out.

A Note From Nick

You Asked How to Help. Here’s How.

A few of you have reached out asking how you can support Dublin Daily — and honestly, it means a lot just to hear that. Here's what actually helps.

The single biggest thing: forward this to a neighbor, a friend, or anyone who loves Dublin and might not know we exist yet. Word of mouth is everything for a local newsletter. Or just share dublinohiodaily.com next time Dublin comes up in conversation.

If you ever have a tip — a local business worth spotlighting, an event coming up, something happening in your neighborhood — hit reply and tell us. That's the fuel that keeps this going.

We also have sponsors who make Dublin Daily free. If something catches your eye, click their links — it makes a real difference.

Thanks for being here. Dublin is a better place to live when we're all looking out for each other — and that's really what all this is about.
