Did you know Dublin had its own bank? It just got acquired

Did you know Dublin had its own bank? I'll admit I didn't. Apparently Riverside Bank of Dublin has been around since 2021 — right here in town, just quietly doing its thing.
Here's why it just hit our radar: it just got bought. A Pennsylvania bank called NexTier is taking it over. Once that goes through later this year, the Riverside name disappears and the locations turn into NexTier. The Dublin branch stays open. The new Bridge Park location that was supposed to open in June still is — just with a different name on the door.
If you bank there, you'll probably get a letter explaining what changes for your accounts. If not, kind of fun to know we had our own bank for a few years.

Two Nights, Free Music and 300 Drones

Fore!Fest dates dropped: June 5 and 6. Friday 5 to 10, Saturday 5 to 11.
The drone show is back for its third year — Friday night around 9:45, 300 drones over Bridge Park, all golf and Dublin themed. Best views are from the Dublin Link, Riverside Crossing Park, or east of the library in Historic Dublin.
Friday's lineup: Ian Harrison headlining, with Josh Melton, Devin Henry, and DJ Q. Saturday: North to Nashville headlining, with Matt Schuster, Andi Jo Taylor, and DJ Vince K.
Plus the usual — golf simulators, lawn games, food trucks, local vendors, and Bridge Park restaurants running specials.
Free as always. Got a Friday or Saturday preference? Hit reply and let us know who you're most excited to see.

That Bridge We Waited Three Years for Just Won an Award

Quick fun one: the new bridge at the US 33 / SR 161 / Post Road interchange — the one by Costco we all sat in traffic around for years — just won an Outstanding Bridge Award from the Ohio Association of Bridge Construction & Design.
The award is in the new short span category, basically recognizing it as one of the best new bridges of its kind in Ohio. The full interchange project wrapped up recently — new ramps, the Eiterman Road roundabout connection, the whole thing — but the bridge itself is the part getting the trophy.
So next time you're driving through, you can feel a little smug about it.
