Northwest Bank Made It Official
Remember Northwest Bank, the latest financial company looking to make a big move into Dublin? City Council approved the deal Monday night, so now it’s official.
And we now have a better idea of what the move will look like. Northwest plans a 75,000-square-foot office in Bridge North, the development taking shape across the river from Bridge Park, with the move expected in the first half of 2029.
The bank expects to start with about 120 employees and grow to as many as 300 by 2034. Dublin will provide $50,000 once Northwest signs a lease of at least 15 years, plus up to $460,000 over five years if the company delivers the payroll tax revenue expected from those jobs.
We pointed out last week that Dublin seems to be developing a bit of a financial-company streak, with Pathways Financial Credit Union and Benefit Bank Distributors making moves here before Northwest. Now the third one is officially on the way.

Two Dublin Athletes Are Up for Athlete of the Week
Dublin has two names on this week’s Dispatch Girls Athlete of the Week ballot — and both had pretty impressive weeks.
Coffman’s Maddy Fry scored three field hockey goals across two games, including two against Hilliard and another against Bexley.
And Jerome’s Nikitha Suresh shot a 65 to win the Brunswick Coaster Classic. That’s already her second win of the season and her third round in the 60s.

Want to See What Metro Center Could Become?
We’ve talked recently about Dublin’s older office areas and the question of what happens to them as companies increasingly look for something different. Metro Center is where the city is trying to answer that question on a pretty big scale.
The long-term plan calls for transforming the largely office-focused area around Metro Place into something much more mixed-use and walkable — adding housing, restaurants, public spaces and better connections without getting rid of the offices and businesses already there. City Council adopted that overall vision in 2024; now the rules for how it could actually develop are starting to take shape.
On Wednesday, September 2, the city is holding an open house where you can see a 3D model of what Metro Center could eventually look like, preview the proposed design guidelines and zoning roadmap, and talk with the people working on it.
It’s from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Development Building, 5200 Emerald Parkway, and you can drop in anytime. If you live nearby, work in Metro Center or are simply curious about what Dublin has planned for one of its oldest major office districts, this is probably the meeting to see it for yourself.
